| | Central Government Health Scheme was introduced in Thiruvananthapuram on 15th January 1996, for providing comprehensive medical care facilities for the Central Government Employees (Serving & Retired), family members and other entitled categories. Initially C.G.H.S Trivandrum started functioning with three Allopathy Dispensaries at Kesavadasapuram, Sasthamangalam and Vanchiyoor respectively. Now there is an Ayurvedic and a Homeopathy unit under CGHS Trivandrum and it is funded by the department of Ayush. | | FACILITIES AVAILABLE | 1) Medical Attendance including consultation with GDMO at CGHS Dispensaries | 2) Specialist consultation in selected Centres / Hospitals. | | 3) Supply of medicines. | | 4) Domiciliary visit (provided the pensioners resides within 3 Km of the CGHS dispensaries). | 5) Hospital services at Govt. Hospitals and selected hospitals recognized under CGHS. It includes OPD, hospitalization, specialist investigations and treatment etc. | | 6) Ayurvedic / Homoeopathic treatment can be availed only from the Ayush dispensaries. However referral facilities / outside purchase of medicines are presently not allowed for pensioner beneficiaries in ayush dispensaries. | | | | FACILITIES NOT PERMISSIBLE | | 1) Treatment in non-recognized hospitals except in emergency | | 2) Purchasing of OPD medicines from outside. | | 3) Administration of routine injections at one’s residence. | | 4) Dressing of wound at residence. | | 5) Supply of artificial appliances ( dentures, spectacles, etc., ) | | | | Office of the Joint Director and All CGHS Wellness Centers are now fully computerized. | | | | Dispensary level advisory committee (DLAC) meetings are conducted in all CGHS dispensaries on 2nd Saturday’s of every month for monitoring the proper functioning of dispensaries and redressal of grievances. |
